Mark Wren

Mark Wren has over thirty-five years of experience in Municipal Trading, Underwriting, and both Institutional and High Net Worth Sales. He spent his first 12 years at Gibraltar Savings and Loan, First Interstate Bank, Crocker / Midland Montague, and the Bank of California. Mr. Wren joined Piper Jaffray in 1993, managing a team of 25 trading and sales professionals. During this time, Mr. Wren managed the group from the West Coast headquarters of Piper Jaffray with trading desks in Minneapolis, Chicago, Denver, Kansas City, San Francisco, Arizona, and Washington. He was the sole manager of over 750 California issues at Piper Jaffray.

Mr. Wren relocated to San Francisco and partnered in the start-up firm, Nollenberger Capital Partners, as the Head of the Municipal Trading and Underwriting Department. In the five years before being acquired by Sterne Agee, Nollenberger’s Municipal Bond Business grew to include a trading desk with 3 traders, 4 institutional sales people, a public finance team of 6, and a high net worth sales group that managed over a billion in California Municipal Bonds.

In 2014, Mr. Wren opened a California Trading and Underwriting desk for the Bank of Oklahoma where he managed Trading and Underwriting, for the California, Texas, Wisconsin, Arkansas, and Oklahoma areas. His responsibilities also included co-managing Institutional Sales, as well as compliance responsibilities within the municipal department including high net worth sales.

Mr. Wren has extensive experience in Trading and Underwriting of all California Credits. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Southern California and is a member of the Los Angeles and the San Francisco Municipal Bond Clubs. Mr. Wren has managed over 1500 Municipal Bond Issues throughout his career.

He holds FINRA Series 7, Series 8, Series 53, and Series 63 Securities Licenses.
