MICHAEL PLACENCIA JOINS STERN BROTHERS AS MANAGING DIRECTOR, NATIONAL HEAD OF INFRASTRUCTURE AND TRANSPORTATION BANKING

St. Louis, MO – Stern Brothers is pleased to announce that Michael Placencia has joined the Firm as a Managing Director and National Head of Infrastructure and Transportation Banking.

Michael comes to Stern Brothers after nearly six years at US Bancorp where he provided broad coverage of municipal infrastructure clients in the Western Region, and airports, transit, toll roads and other transportation clients nationally. Michael began his over 20-year career at Goldman Sachs and has also worked with UBS Securities and Bank of America Merrill Lynch in New York, before returning to California.

“It is always a goal of the Firm to hire senior level bankers with deep expertise in particular areas of municipal finance”, stated Linda Matkowski, Chief Operating Officer of Stern Brothers. “Mike has extensive relationships within the transportation and infrastructure space and also brings high level experience with the structuring and execution of both fixed and variable rate transactions (such as variable rate demand bonds and commercial paper programs) and direct placement financings.”

Michael received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from the University of California at Berkeley, and a Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He holds FINRA licenses 7 and 63.
