Vien Le, Managing Director, has over 20 years of experience in public finance as an investment banker and municipal advisor working on short and long-term debt issuances. He has been involved with over $20 billion in financings in lead capacities as either a banker or municipal advisor for clients in the West and Midwest regions. Vien has worked with a variety of clients including states, cities, K-14, public power, water utilities, redevelopment, transportation, and special districts on general obligation, revenue, lease, pension obligation, tax increment, note, and land-secured financings. This includes managing transactions for large, sophisticated borrowers and small issuers that include the State of California, California State Public Works Board, City of Los Angeles, Los Angeles Department of Water & Power, the Regents of the University of California, the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, Port of Los Angeles, Southern California Public Power Authority, Los Angeles Unified School District, San Diego Unified School District and Los Angeles Community College District.
Prior to his career in public finance Vien was an Associate at a Los Angeles venture capital firm specializing in disruptive technologies and Staff Research Associate in the Atherosclerosis Research Unit of the Cardiology Division at the UCLA School of Medicine specializing in protein analysis and developing cell cultures. Prior to joining Stern, he was the chief financial officer of a California agtech company and served as an advisor to a Seoul based audio technology firm. Vien received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from UCLA and currently holds the Series 52 and Series 63 licenses and formerly a Series 50.
